 Surge in university applications
UWS, like other universities, is experiencing a surge applications, reflecting a growing number of mature-aged applicants returning to education..A strong demand exists for business and commerce, policing, psychology and nursing. For example, more than 1000 first preferences were received for its bachelor of nursing and the bachelor of medicine/bachelor of surgery received more than 600 first preferences.

Parramatta City Council has advertised for a media and communications advisor for a “fast-spaced” role proving media advice and analysis on current issues to the lord mayor and executive team, with a salary range from $74,622 to $84,575, plus super. Leasing ‘heating up’
Leasing in Macquarie Park/North Ryde is heating up with 46,000 square metres of new space completed in the first half of 2009, more than any other market in Sydney, according to CB Richard Ellis. “The new Epping to Chatswood rail link … is drawing tenant interest from traditional North Shore markets, as evidenced by CSR’s recent relocation from Chatswood,” said CBRE’s Luke Nixon. The 340-hectare Macquarie Park/North Ryde has an estimated 800,000 square metres of commercial space.
