Economic Insights for Western Sydney

The Australian economy has been more resilient than expected in the face of a material lift in interest rates. However signs are building of a slowdown including a loosening in the labour market and softening consumer spending. Inflation is also moderating and together it suggests interest rates have peaked and should start to come down in late 2024. This session will discuss the factors leading to the rate cuts and how large the cycle will be.
