Bank Street Park Project

Ignite HER Pathway

Ignite HER Pathway is a fully funded pre‑employment program supported by the NSW Government’s Women in Construction initiative.

It’s designed to give women real, hands‑on experience on a live construction site, so when they step into work, they know what to expect and how to show up ready.

Our program is about preparing people properly for site life and helping employers meet motivated, capable workers.

Why get involved?

Finding good people is hard.

Ignite HER Pathway gives subcontractors the chance to see potential workers on site before making a hire, how they turn up, how they listen, how they work with others.

By getting involved, you can:

  • Meet job‑ready candidates, not just resumes
  • Reduce time spent recruiting and onboarding
  • Select workers who already understand site safety and expectations
  • Support a stronger, more inclusive workforce (at no cost to your business)

All participants must complete the program before being considered for employment. Subcontractors choose who they hire.

Who you’ll be meeting

Participants complete accredited training and hands‑on learning, including:

  • Construction White Card (CPCCWHS2001)
  • Using hand and power tools (RIISAM203E)
  • Operating machinery and equipment (AHCMOM304)

They also receive:

  • Full PPE
  • Time on a live construction site
  • Site tours and exposure to real work environments
  • Guest speakers from industry
  • Mentoring and employability support

By the end of the program, participants are prepared to:

  • work safely
  • follow site rules
  • take direction
  • be reliable members of a crew
