Last edition we brought to you the news of Novotel Sydney Parramatta’s conference refurbishment and in light of this, meet the newest member to the sales team, Rachael Lihou, Business Development Manager, who is eager and ever willing to assist on your next large corporate conference or event to be held in the hotel’s stunning new rooms.

Rachael joins the team with excitement and enthusiasm as well as a strong background in destination events having previously worked at Accor properties, Sofitel Sydney Wentworth and Novotel Wollongong Northbeach. However, Rachael’s hospitality adventure started 11 years ago in Switzerland while studying at the Swiss Hotel Management School.  While there, she travelled Europe, living and working in various countries and hotels, picking up numerous skills and knowledge.

Accor has presented Rachael with many opportunities to explore different roles and working in both regional and city hotels.  Her experience and determination has seen her promoted from Sales Executive through to Business Development Manager. Within the various hotels it has also allowed her to gain experience with variety of markets from leisure to corporate and business events.

Now based at Parramatta, Rachael is ready to share her knowledge and looks forward to promoting Parramatta as a destination together with the city’s business partners and showcasing the hotel’s new facilities. The multi use event spaces and beautifully sunlit atrium will be ready for large seminars and exhibitions to grand social events like weddings.  

Working in hospitality has allowed Rachael to follow her passion for travelling and meeting new people. Often entertaining clients with her quick wit and humorous laugh, she has the bubbly and high energy personality set for business events and quickly makes anyone feel at home. Born and raised in Wollongong, Rachael spends her time unwinding from the working week by relaxing on the beach or trying out new restaurants and cafes. Another hobby of Rachael’s is taking leisurely drives in her Mazda RX7 which was recently rebuilt inside and out with her father in memory of her late brother.
