Government and private investment in Western Sydney’s cultural and visitor economy is at an all time high. The region is seeing massive investment across sport, major venues, arts and culture.
The NSW Government has promised more than $30 million over the next three years for arts and culture in Western Sydney and a further $300 million to deliver a new stadium. In addition, privately funded projects, including Sydney Zoo and The Crown Foundation’s Arts and Culture Program will deliver in excess of $100 million directly into the region.
With this level of investment the Western Sydney business community will see unprecedented returns in incremental visitor spend. This continually evolving sector will also deliver economic benefits that reach far beyond visitor-related industries including:
• Raising the profile of the region
• Contributing to the positive perception of the region to attract further direct investment
• Economic development through corporate travel
• Raising the quality of life
• Delivering jobs
