Digital engagement is accelerating
For the first time, in 2019, there were more small businesses with high or advanced levels of digital engagement than those with basic or intermediate levels of engagement.
Benefits for small businesses from digital engagement include achieving more revenue growth on average, more revenue per employee, and more time to invest in the business. This research, conducted by Deloitte Access Economics for the Federal Government and its Small Business Digital Champions Project in August 2019, builds on previous editions of Connected Small Business research conducted for Google in 2013, 2016 and 2017, which utilised similar methodologies.
